Today, the Islamic world has lost another best scholar in modern times with the extraordinary works of Al-Imam al-Allamah al-Muhaddits al-Ushuli al-Mufassir as-Sheikh Prof. Dr. Nuruddin ‘Itr Al-Hasani al-Hanafi.
This sad news was told by the Minister of Religion, Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al Bakri in a status uploaded on his Twitter page.
“I was shocked by the passing of a well-known scholar and hadith expert today, namely Sheikh Prof. Dr. Nuruddin ‘Itr,” he wrote in status on his official Twitter page.
According to Dr. Zulkifli, Sheikh Prof. Dr. Nuruddin ‘Itr was born in 1937 in Halab, Syria. Among his famous teachers are Sheikh Mustafa Mujahid, Sheikh Muhammad Muhammad al-Samahi, Sheikh Muhammad Muhyiddin ‘Abd al-Hamid and the one who had the most impact in his life was Sheikh Abdullah Sirajuddin.
“I have heard several times of his studies in the city of Syria while at Majma ‘Ilmi Damascus. He was a man famous for his greatness in the knowledge of hadith. May Allah has mercy on him and place him with the pious and ulama’, ” he added.
