Woman In Rush Gets Off Train And Leaves Baby Behind

In a recent incident, commuters were told a mother became separated from her baby at Peckham Rye station, South East London.

A station staff took the baby in a pram off the Victoria to Dartford train at the following stop. The mother then called South Eastern Railways to warn them she had forgotten her child.

They were then reunited after she came back to collect her baby and are said t be “safe and well”. But people are questioning how the mother could forget to take her child off the train.

A Twitter user tweeted, “My friend train was delayed because someone forgot their baby in the pram.. the mum had to get the next train to meet the baby.. I mean how do you forget YOUR BABY.. A WHOLE BABY,”.

A South Eastern spokesman said, “We received a help point call from a mother to advise she had become separated from her child at Peckham Rye station this evening while traveling on the 17:04 Victoria to Dartford service,”.

“The unaccompanied child was helped off the train at the next stop (Nunhead) by station colleagues while the mother traveled on the next service to collect the child. Both are safe and well, and the service was back on the move with a five-minute delay,” the spokesman added.
