COVID-19: Mosques, Surau In KL, Putrajaya To Hold Solat Hajat For Three Days

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) has urged all mosques and surau in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya to hold solat hajat (prayer of need) and doa selamat for three consecutive days to seek Allah’s help in curbing the spread of COVID-19.

JAWI director Mohd Ajib Ismail said that solat hajat should be performed after the Maghrib prayer starting tomorrow and after the Friday prayer this week.

“JAWI is very grateful for the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s decree for all mosques in the country to hold solat hajat and doa selamat to seek Allah’s mercy for the pandemic to be eradicated immediately and effectively in the country,” he said in a statement today.
