PUTRAJAYA, Oct 14 — Private higher learning institutions (IPTS) have been exempted from the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and are allowed to hold examinations conducted by external examination providers according to the schedule set.
The Higher Education Department in a statement today said the exemption involved 3,031 local students and 195 international students of IPTS in four states placed under the CMCO, namely Selangor, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
However, the department said students must get a letter of confirmation from their respective institutions.
“It involved students taking the Cambridge GCE A-Level, Australian Matriculation, Canadian pre-university examinations.
“Also involved are those who have registered to sit for international examinations and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examination,” the statement said.
The exemption given is subject to IPTS’ compliance with the prescribed standard operating procedures and the government’s decisions.
