Latest COVID-19 Cases Reported At 1 Utama And Setia City Mall

Two COVID-19 cases involving staff were reported at two popular shopping malls that is 1 Utama and Setia City Mall.

Regarding the case of COVID-19 in One Utama, it was confirmed by the One Utama Facebook page that a Parkson staff who worked as a Beauty Advisor in the Estee Lauder division was confirmed positive for COVID-19.

“Swift action has been taken by Parkson to conduct a comprehensive sanitization exercise, with their store staff undergoing tests as well as 14 days quarantine. Contact tracing will be carried out by MOH,” said One Utama.

“We wish to point out that the affected staff’s access to Parkson was via Parkson’s dedicated staff entrance/exit which is not open to the public. Rest assured our entire mall building has also been disinfected, with 1 Utama frontliners working very hard throughout all hours of the day to keep the mall clean and to step up every way we can, “the post added.

While for the Setia City Mall, it is confirmed through the Setia City Mall Facebook page that one of the members of Fitness First at the mall outlet has been infected with COVID-19.

It is reported that the Fitness First staff on duty have already performed the COVID-19 screening test and will undergo a 14-day self-quarantine.

“As part of our focus on health and safety, both Fitness First and the mall have immediately commissioned specialist deep cleaning last night, in addition to our frequent and diligent cleaning and disinfection procedures,” said Setia City Mall on their posts.

“Our valued shoppers and friends, please be assured that we are in close contact with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other relevant authorities and will keep you informed of any updates,” they added.
