New WhatsApp Updates, Allows Users to Delete Media From Other People’s Phones

WhatsApp has been associated with our life. Since it was released in 2009, it is used by most Malaysians currently and has played an important role to us.

We are relying on WhatsApp to connect us with people that are staying far from our reach. In addition, when the coronavirus pandemic hits the world, this app is widely used for most of the time.

All software needs updates and upgrades to enhance efficiency and give a better experience when using them. Thus, WhatsApp is adding a new feature that will be great news for the users. The new updates from WhatsApp will allow the users to delete a video, picture, or gif from other people’s phones after sending it to them.

This new feature will need the users to select a “view once” option when they want to send the image, video, or gif. When the option was chosen, the recipients will be able to view the media only once before it disappears from the chat.

A message stated “This media will disappear once you leave this chat” will appear to the recipients. When they leave the chat and open it again, a pops up will say, “View once photo expired.” This is a way to avoid users from taking a screenshot of the media to save it on their phones.

There is no clear information on when WhatsApp will release this new feature to the public. Currently, it is still under development as part of the Android 2.20.2011 version of the messaging app.
