Panic Buying Across Malaysia After CMCO Announcement Yesterday

The government yesterday implemented the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) throughout the states of Selangor, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. Not only that, but the state of Sabah also faces the CMCO.

For the state of Sabah, CMCO has already started to be implemented at 12 midnight last night until October 26, 2020. Meanwhile, for the state of Selangor, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya will start on October 14 until October 27, 2020.

This implementation has indirectly caused panic buying among the people throughout the state involved yesterday. If seen on social media, many pictures show most supermarkets and shopping malls are full of people.

Famous tv personality, Nazrudin Rahman yesterday also shared on Twitter about his experience while at the Jaya Grocer shopping mall, Empire Shopping Gallery.

According to Cyberjaya Info, panic buying also occurs in the Cyberjaya area. Places like Village Grocer, Star Grocer, and Redtick are full of people queuing up.

However, the community should not worry, this is because all economic activities are still allowed to operate as usual during the CMCO later.

The matter can be referred to through Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri’s statement on his Facebook page here.
