1) Filling Up Your Brain With Last Minute Information And Knowledge

Cramming or panic studying is definitely the worst way to study before your examination. This is because, you are only temporarily storing all the information that you read as you do not really have a real understanding about the particular subject. Other than that, cramming all the information when you’re short of time could cause you to really increase your stress levels and you won’t be able to concentrate. If you still have not covered certain topic, you could go through chapter summaries and also practice by using a lot of past year papers for the solution instead of filling up all the information as many as you can.

2) Comparing Your Study Progress With Your Friends

One very crucial thing that you should not be doing when any exam is just around the corner would be to compare what you have studied with all of your other friends. We sometimes tend to be curious about how much they have revised for the examination and want to know if we are ahead or behind them. This is actually not a healthy habit to practice by anyone. When you compare yourself with others, this can cause you to feel dissatisfied with what all the efforts that you have been doing al this while and this eventually will lead to a lower levels of confidence. To make sure everything at peace, you just focus on your own studies instead. This will help yourselves and also other people.

3) Doing Things Out Of The Ordinary

While #YOLO (You Only Live Once) is a very great mantra to observe, you should also remind yourselves that you still have exam to go through for the better future of your own self. Because of that, you do not have to wander about doing new things that you always wanted to do just before the important day of your life such as physical activities that you’re not used to. For example, hiking, rollerblading and also rock climbing as they may cause unwanted injuries. Not to forbid all of you guys from doing exercise but please keep it minimal and something that you used to do. In addition, you should also be aware of what and where you’re eating because it will affect most things in life.

4) Overthinking A Lot Of Things

When you feel anxious because of the exams, your should try as hard as you can to avoid from letting your mind to wander off and contemplate about life after an important exam. It may even lead you to an impossible crisis, where you feel like your future is doomed if you fail to do well for the exam. To fix this from happening, stop thinking when this happens. As the saying goes, do not add fuel to the fire by thinking about all the horrible things that could happen. All you have to do is to take a really deep breath and remember to take things one step at a time. Keep your focus on the present so that everything works well and don’t worry about what hasn’t happened yet.

5) Skip Meals

People tend to skip a lot of meals when they are focus studying just because they think they do not have the time to even eat. Little that everyone knows that actually skipping your meals can affect your brain’s efficiency. This is because, when you deprive yourself of nutrients, your blood sugar decreases and this would lead to interrupting your brain’s ability to think properly. This will cause you to lose focus while you’re sitting for your exam. Although you might feel the need to keep studying during break hours, try to allocate at least 30 minutes to eat and rest.
