The local Chinese media, The Paper, reported that a woman being pushed into a reservoir by a friend has gone viral in China as police confirmed both women drowned.
The event unfolded as everything was captured by a surveillance camera nearby, taking place at the Wuxiangshan Reservoir in Nanjing city’s Lishui District at 12 pm on Oct. 21, last Wednesday.
The video of the incident went viral on Oct. 24, three days after the incident was taken place. From the footage, the two women can be seen standing at the edge of a rural reservoir when the woman dressed in orange bends down to tie her shoelace.
As she does so, the woman in black steps behind her and forcefully pushes her into the water, with both women falling in.
According to the Lishui Police’s statement, the woman who pushes her friend has surnamed Shi, a 43-year-old who had been suffering from depression and had been prescribed medication.
The two women are reportedly former colleagues and police had filed the case to be under investigation the next following day.
