An Old House Built In 1860 Will Be Sold For £250,000

A 160-year-old house in the United Kingdom with a World War II-related history will be sold for £ 250,000 as the owner moves out after 83 years of living there.

Interestingly, the front of the house looks like the house is only one story and narrow. However, when viewed from behind it is actually three floors.

The old Southampton property has three bedrooms, a toilet, a kitchen, and four special areas.

The owner, 83-year-old Ernie Bartlett, spent the rest of his life living in the house after inheriting it from his mother in 1964.

“It has been in the Bartlett family for about 100 years, and I think it was probably built around 1860,” said Ernie’s nephew Dean Jones.

“My uncle has lived there all his life, he was one of ten children who lived there,” he said.

“I have fond memories, as a young kid it was like a wonderland,” added Jones.

The interior of the house is furnished with floral-patterned sofas, old appliances, and colorful rugs. This old house also has a history of decades including the white pillars on the front of the house.

“You can still see where they took the gate for the war effort,” Jones continued.

“There is even a crack in one of the pillars when a tank rode into it going off for D-Day,” he said.

Jones also says that the house is like a “museum”. This is because his uncle Ernie likes to collect collections of soldiers, ships, trains, plates, and even cars.
