Diego Maradona Will Remain In Hospital For A Few Days After Brain Surgery

Legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona is still in hospital for a few more days to undergo treatment after brain surgery to remove a blood clot (subdural hematoma), said the doctor who treated him.

It is believed that Maradona will be hospitalized for a few more days after experiencing “confusion” after the surgery.

“Diego is very well. The CT scan we did today was very good,” said his doctor, Dr. Leopoldo Luque.

“We were even dancing with Diego … But we also noticed in the post-op recovery process some episodes of confusion. We associated them, in conjunction with the therapy doctors, with a period of abstinence. The plan is to follow a treatment that we believe will last a few days,” the doctor continued.

“It is best for Diego. We have no doubts about it and this is a great opportunity to do the best for him and his health. He remains hospitalized today and will be here for several more days,” he added.

Maradona previously had a long history of drug and alcohol addiction.

According to ESPN, the legendary football player had surgery on Tuesday at Olivos Hospital to remove an accumulation of blood between a membrane of his brain that had been detected on an MRI on Monday.

On Monday, Maradona was admitted to the Ipensa Clinic in La Plata with signs of anemia, dehydration, and depression. One of his friends said Maradona had no appetite to eat. On Tuesday morning, an MRI revealed a subdural hematoma and he was moved to Buenos Aires.
