McDonald’s Brand New Meat-Free And Plant-Based Patty, ‘McPlant’ To Sell In 2021

The fast-food giant that is McDonald’s will be launching “McPlant” in the year of 2021. It is a new meat-free and also plant-based patty to cater the growing number of people in the United States who do not eat meat. This particular news has been announced on the 9th of November 2020.

McDonald’s had already tested out a plant-based patty in Canada with Beyond Meat. Beyond Meat is particularly a company that makes vegan meat substitutes for everyone.

The brand new line of “McPlant” will be officially produced exclusively for McDonald’s only. This particular company will reach out to all the third-party suppliers and did not specify it is renewing its collaboration with Beyond Meat. This Beyond Meat company has developed a lot of various products that have a closer resemble meat in taste, texture, and also color. Their creation is made by using soya, which has been around for a long time.

Ian Borden who heads McDonald’s international operations said, “We are excited about the opportunity because we believe we have a proven, delicious-tasting product”. McDonald’s will continue selling classic items and also aims to put new emphasis on chicken-based products, which are growing faster than the beef products’ market.
