Now Fans Can Play Chess Against Beth Harmon, ‘The Queen’s Gambit’

The Queen’s Gambit is an American coming-of-age period drama miniseries based on Walter Tevis’s 1983 novel of the same name, created for Netflix by Scott Frank and Allan Scott and written and directed by the former.

If you enjoyed watching it, you can now play against a virtual Beth Harmon at different ages and stages of her chess career.

Here is a quick look at each of the new Beth computer personalities:

Beth (age 8) – 850 playing strength: Beth has just started playing chess.

Beth (age 9)- 1200 playing strength.

Beth (age 10)- 1600 playing strength.

Beth (age 15)- 1800 playing strength.

Beth (age 17) – 2400 playing strength: Beth is playing at the strength of an International Master.

Beth (age 20) – 2500 playing strength.

Beth (age 22) – 2700 playing strength: Beth has been dreaming of playing for the world championship for two years and aspires to be the youngest World Chess Champion ever.
