For those who love to watch movies, there are definitely a variety of iconic characters that can be remembered to this day. Whether it is a new movie or a classic one, the iconic characters make a movie interesting to watch.

The same goes for horror genre films, the iconic characters in these films certainly exist even though the roles they play vary such as psycho killers, possessed children, noble heroes, and even doomed lovers.

According to Empire, the best horror characters can take the form of unforgettable pictures, or something deeper like conveying an exploration of fear, grief, and death.

However, many must be wondering who is the best iconic horror movie character. To address that, here is a list of the four best horror movie characters:

4 – Michael Myers

Movies: Halloween (1978)

Michael Myers is a bad guy who looks strong, but the agile maniac usually wears a full blue bodysuit and a completely white face covering the Halloween mask. He almost always carried a short-range weapon in his hand lurking innocent people.

Myers always sneaked, very few ever got a clear view of himself. He is a very dangerous psychotic killer. For some reason, he was forced to kill innocent people on Halloween and preferred to use close-range weapons or with bare hands. It is not known in what way he chose his victims, but they were often young and basically innocent.

He is very smart and can usually collect data about his victims from a distance so he can kill them safely without the risk of detection.

3 – Sadako

One of the most popular horror movie characters from Japan. She is bound by her desire for revenge. One of the most famous curses she made was videotape. Anyone watching the tape will be killed. Sadako’s most popular scene is when she comes out of the TV screen and approaches the audience.

How she killed her victim is still unclear. Some say it is caused by a virus that is transmitted from one victim to another. After examining the bodies, all the victims looked shocked, as if they had died of fear.

2 – Pennywise

The character that can change shape and also known as It. The most popular It character is Pennywise the Dancing Clown. The reason behind the action it kills people is because it eats for its own survival and satisfaction and then it becomes inactive usually after being fed for a year. It is a deadly predator that mainly hunts for food. But only if it can scare its prey before eating its prey.

It is a human predator and prefers to make children victims rather than adults.

Freddy Kreuger is the main antagonist of the horror film series ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’. Kreuger acts as a serial killer spirit who uses a gloved hand with a razor to kill his victim in their dreams, causing their deaths in the real world as well. In the dream world, he is a strong and almost invincible force.

In the film, Freddy’s arrival is usually preceded by children in his victim’s dream. They uttered rhymes about Freddy who warned others to stay away from him.
