(Videos) Police Fine Family £10, 000 For Breaching COVID Rules By Throwing Party

A parent has been fined £ 10,000 for violating COVID-19 rules after police found them having a party with 50 guests at their home.

Officials rushed to the party held at a property in Wolverhampton, in the West Midlands, after hearing loud noises from the property.

The husband asked the police for an extra hour and complained the family had spent a lot of money on the party.

Police officers were even surprised to see some guests coming from London to the party which was held on Saturday.

Body-cam footage shows the husband complaining about spending money for the party. He also asked police to “give them an hour” and that “he did not believe in the virus.”

According to Mirror UK, he later admitted only four people lived in the area after being told by a female police officer that ‘no party was allowed’.

The parent claimed there were only 20 guests but officials who stopped the party believed up to 50 people were present.

“They need to leave. You are breaching Covid,” the officer told the father.

“I’ve spent too much money on this party. Give me an hour,” said the father.

West Midlands police have fined £ 10,000 to the parents for violating COVID’s rules. It is believed that this is the first time the team has done so on a residential property.

“This was a reckless breach of Covid rules at a time when the deadly virus is spreading and harming our communities,” said Superintendent Simon Inglis, from Wolverhampton Police.

“It was clearly pre-planned and bringing together these many people at a residential property is not only illegal, but increases the risk of any infections being passed on,” he said.
