Couple Finally Gets Their First Child After Waiting For 21 Years

A married couple from Sampang, Madura waited 21 years to have children – the husband and wife’s long wait made the doctor who handled their pregnancy program burst with emotions.

The doctor said that this couple has been anticipating and struggling to have a baby.

The story of this husband and wife went viral after doctors shared their stories via Instagram @drbennyarifin. In the post, Dr. Benedict explained the patience of this married couple in waiting for their baby’s presence for 21 years.

Doctor Benediktus wrote that the husband and wife, named Ibu Su’udiyah, is 44 years old and Mr. Somidi is 51 years old.

Their baby had just been born and was named Aisyah. Doctor Benediktus said Su’udiyah and Somidi had been following the IVF program since the last one year.

“They waited for 21 years. Imagine 21 years!”

God finally answered their extraordinary obedience, perseverance and faith,” wrote Benediktus.

According to Benediktus, it is not easy for couples who have problems like Su’udiyah and Somidi to maintain a marriage.

“Not many couples can be together for 21 years to support and strengthen each other so that they do not lose hope of having a baby,” he wrote.

Doctor Benedict also talked about the husband and wife’s long struggle to have children.

“I am a witness to their very uneasy struggle. They live 15 km outside the city of Sumenep, Pakondang Daya Hamlet, Madura, six hours drive from Surabaya.

“In order to meet me for consultation or action in the morning, they leave for the bus at 2:00 in the morning. Imagine the length of IVF ritual and being required to be on time for injections etc.

“Every day they sell cassava chips at the Asta Tinggi Complex,” he said.

Benediktus said the process of IVF is similar to that of other patients.

After getting the embryos, they even had to wait nearly a year before being successfully transferred to the uterus. Benediktus said that during the year the husband and wife went back and forth to Morula.

They also patiently wait for the uterus that is not ready.

In every meeting the husband and wife follow the protocol diligently, accompanied by a nurse.
“When the wife had gotten pregnant, I still remember those touching moments, not many words, but full of happy tears,” wrote Benediktus.

For Benediktus, his meeting with a married couple from Madura was not a coincidence.

Benediktus believes all of this is part of the plan of the Almighty and He believes it will be beautiful in its time.

Finally, Benedict wishes him, the medical team and the patient all the best.

“Hopefully that is a sign for me and for us #SPREADKINDNESS to be wider. Share joy & hope for all.
