Moderate Earthquake Hits Mindanao, In The Philippines

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16  — A moderate earthquake measuring  5.9 on the Richter scale hit Mindanao, in the Philippines at 7.22 am today.

The Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia) , in a statement, said the quake occurred about 158 kilometers south of  Koronadal City, in the Philippines, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

However, it posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
