New Spider-Man Movie Will See The Return of Some Past ‘Spidey’ Cast Members

It looks like the world of Spider-Man 3 continues to grow, with rumors suggesting we’re going to see some former members of the Spidey cast returning for the new film: Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Kirsten Dunst as MJ, and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus.

Also awaiting talks to return to the film franchise are Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Collider published Tuesday.

It follows news months ago that the movie will be joined by Garfield and Maguire. The live-action Spider-Verse seems to come to life, with Spider-Man 3 also seeing the return of Electro from Jamie Foxx, who previously starred with Garfield in 2014’s The Incredible Spider-Man 2.

Like at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, J.K. Simmons, who played the Daily Bugle editor, J. Jonah Jameson, in the Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, may also make an appearance.

The stars of the previous two film series will be joined by the new Spider-Man, Tom Holland, and Zendaya, the current MJ.

The Spider-Verse was explored in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, an animated film. No news yet as to whether Miles Morales could be entering the world of live-action.

In the new movie, Benedict Cumberbatch will star as Doctor Strange, as was announced in October.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the time-bending Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero will join Peter Parker as the latest mentor, following the death of Tony Stark/Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame.

In his own sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which has been postponed from May 2021 to March 25, 2022, Cumberbatch will also be returning.

Unfortunately, Sony and Disney have yet to give their comment regarding the news.
