Zoo Negara Reopens for Everyone Starting Today

Zoo Negara was among the sectors that were severely affected after not being allowed to operate during the Movement Control Order (CMCO) in March. The issue of lack of funds squeezed the management of the national zoo after it was closed again during the CMCO.

In a post on Facebook uploaded by the Zoo Negara, they finally returned to operations for visitors today after being closed for more than two months due to the CMCO.

According to the post, Zoo Negara also stated that they operate according to the set schedule with the number of visitors allowed only 1,250 people to facilitate monitoring and control of standard operating procedures (SOP).

The public is also asked to follow the Zoo Negara website and social media to get current developments.

“We’re thrilled to officially announce that Zoo Negara is re-opening to everyone from Friday, 18th Dec 2020,” stated Zoo Negara in the post.

“Zoo Negara Malaysia is closely monitoring local developments of the pandemic COVID-19. Based upon current assessments, the Zoo will remain open as scheduled with a reduced capacity of 1,250 visitors at any given time,” added the statement.

Common SOPs such as body temperature intake, social distancing, use of face masks must be followed. For the public, the reopening of the famous zoo is timely because it is suitable for filling the holiday with family or close friends by visiting the Zoo Negara.
