‘Know Your Role When Taking Care Of COVID-19 Patients At Home’ – MOH

We must all be vigilant and adhere to the SOPs that have been set to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus. With cases of infection still prevalent every day, we must unite in curbing the spread.

Patients who are confirmed positive for COVID-19 and are self-quarantine at home must also comply with the SOP set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).

However, what about the person who takes care of this COVID-19 patient at home? What is their role?

To answer the question, the MOH made a tweet on Twitter regarding the issue. Below is the MOH answer:

  • Assist the patient in terms of symptom monitoring and medication intake (if any)
  • Assist patients with daily needs such as eating and drinking, washing clothes, and waste management
  • Make sure patients get enough rest and take nutritious food and drink enough water
  • Perform cleaning and disinfection at home, especially bathrooms

Hopefully, we can all work together in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
