(Video) Let’s Vote For Dato Nicol David! The Only Asian Athlete Nominated For Greatest Athlete of All Time Award

The opportunity for the national squash queen, Dato’ Nicol David to win the World’s Greatest Athlete of All Time Award is getting brighter after comfortably leading the draw.

So far, the eight-time world champion has collected 186,338 votes to comfortably be in the top position.

The most voted athlete currently is Evgeniya Kanaeva, a gymnastic that has won the title for Olympic Champion in 2008.

The latest development has touched Nicol with the support of Malaysians, especially those who voted for her to put her in the top spot in the award competition.

A total of 24 athletes nominated by international sports bodies will each compete for the award which saw Nicol emerge as the sole representative from Asia.

Voting has been open since last Friday but starting January 20, only 10 athletes with the highest number of votes will continue to compete for the award.

The award is aimed at selecting the best athletes of all time who have competed in any edition of the world sports held for the first time in Santa Clara, the USA in 1981.
