The National Security Council has announced that it would allow other business sectors to extend their business hours until 10 pm after enabling restaurants and eateries to open until 10 pm beginning last Friday.
The change is aimed at streamlining working hours and preventing misunderstanding during the Movement Control Order, according to Senior Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
For grocery stores, convenience stores, sundry shops, pharmacies, pet food supply shops, laundry, and optical stores, the extended operating hours until 10 pm is implemented. The newly approved opening hours will be effective as of today, 29 January 2021.
Malaysia has confirmed 4,094 new COVID-19 cases and 10 new deaths today after two weeks of MCO 2.0. More than 198,000 confirmed cases are now available and the overall death toll is 717.
