A Restaurant Owner Now Serves Mannequins After Really Miss Her Customers

A restaurant owner in Brussels complained he missed his customers too much since his business was forced to stop operating since last October under Belgian law.

In addition to losing the source of income, the owner of the restaurant, Therese Mahieu, feels part of herself now feels empty, when no customers visit her restaurant.

She began serving a glass of red wine to a doll with a wig, hat, and scarf sitting in a bar this week in protest of Belgium’s COVID-19 action.

Dummies, made of balloons, give her a sense of community that has been lost at the Chez Therese restaurant in the town of Rixensart since customers are not allowed into the restaurant to prevent COVID-19 infection.

Despite not yet fully facing the third wave of the coronavirus, the host country of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is among the countries with the highest COVID-19 deaths per capita in the world.
