Qatar Strongly Condemns Killing of Italian Ambassador In Armed Attack In Congo

DOHA, Feb 23 – Qatar voiced strong condemnation and denunciation of the killing of the Italian Ambassador to Congo, an Italian officer and a third person in an armed attack on a United Nations convoy in the city of Goma in eastern Congo.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the firm position of Qatar on rejecting violence, terrorism and criminal acts regardless of motives and reasons, and stressed the need to pursue the elements involved in the attack and bring them to justice, Qatar news agency (QNA) reported.

The Ministry expressed the condolences of Qatar to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Italy.
