Senior Citizen With A Wheelchair Was Found, Being Left By The Roadside Alone

Recently, Malaysia was shocked by the sudden sad news of a particular senior citizen was being left by the roadside alone. The sad story was posted by the Selangor Zakat Board on Facebook.

According to the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) Facebook page, the poor elderly woman was found alone on the side of the road with a wheelchair. She was also left with a supply of disposable diapers and a suitcase.

To solve the issue, LZS has tried to contact the family of the senior citizen but did not get good cooperation.

The Facebook posting stated: “According to an investigation, we found out that the elderly woman was our own ‘asnaf’ and she still has a family of her own. The efforts to contact the family were done and the family also could be reached but we did not get good cooperation from them when no heir was willing to invite her back home for various reasons. Due to her poor leg condition and also poor memory, we had to hand her over for further action by the police under the jurisdiction of the authorities”.

The police had to contact the care center for the elderly who came by ambulance to take the mother to the hospital for health examination and Covid-19 screening.

Despite all the treatment she received, she still tries to hide the tears and praised her son who is said to be such a good person. This particular mother still prays for the best for her child even though she was dumped on the roadside alone.

LZS then finally handed over the elderly woman according to the procedure and placed her in the Senior Citizens Care Center with the permission of her child and all costs will be borne by LZS.
