AirAsia Will Be Launching Drone Delivery Service And Air Taxi

The logistics venture of AirAsia Digital known as the Teleport is currently exploring the use of automated drones to deliver goods from AirAsia’s e-commerce platforms. AirAsia said in a statement, “The pilot project for the delivery of goods from AirAsia’s e-commerce platforms, including AirAsia shop, using automated drones is set to be carried out through a six-month phased approach at the third NTIS test site in Cyberjaya”.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes who is AirAsia’s chief executive officer said that this technology of drone delivery is actually an innovative logistic solution that would definitely improve the efficiency and also operational excellence as well as accelerate the pace of delivery in urban areas.

He also added, “Besides, the drone delivery enables us to keep up with the ever-growing demand for e-commerce and remain agile when facing a shifting economic landscape”. Other than the futuristic innovation of AirAsia, this creation also intended to create brand new and also high-tech job opportunities for all Malaysians.

AirAsia also would be introducing the air taxi service soon. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes stated, “The air taxi will have a pilot and four seats. At the moment, we have our team working on this upcoming service by AirAsia”. AirAsia is recently recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic situation, with the growth of its digital platforms such as the super app, fintech and also food business.
