Studio Ghibli has known to transport viewers to a magical world. A campsite in Japan, Hygge Circles Ugakei is inspired by one of the popular production by the studio; Princess Mononoke. You might not be a princess of a magical realm, but you can feel like one in this campsite in Japan.
Located in the Mie Prefecture, a Danish company, Nordisk designed the site. They scheduled it to open this year. Amidst the stunning forests and waterfalls of Uga Valley, visitors can live out the fantasy film of warring gods and tree spirits in the wilderness.
Nordisk has a history of the architectural design of over a century with the motto of “Nature is Luxury”. The projects not only reflect the idea but also revitalize the area.
Although the focus is more towards glamping, there are others such as tents, cottages, and cabins. The project highlights environmental sustainability in line with the themes of Princess Mononoke. Not only that, but the goal of eco-tourism also matches perfectly with the movie.
