(Video) Johnny Depp’s Comeback With ‘City of Lies’

The teaser to Johnny Depp’s new movie City of Lies is now on Youtube. Based on the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Randall Sullivan, this is a crime thriller following a real-life crime. Depp’s lawsuit delayed the release along with issues with the LAPD.

The studio released the trailer in 2018. However, due to the behind-the-scenes controversy in addition to Depp’s trial against his ex-wife, it was delayed. However, Saban Films recently acquiring distribution rights, the new preview has been released with the updated version of the 2018 teaser. There are more hints of the murder investigation. The story follows the investigation into the infamous murder of iconic rap artist Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G. Oscar nominee Johnny Depp stars as determined LAPD detective Russell Poole, who spent nearly 20 years trying to solve the murder, and Oscar and Primetime Emmy winner Forest Whitaker as Jack Jackson, a journalist who teams up with Poole in search of the elusive truth. Together they explore why the case remains cold — and the existence of a secret division in LAPD determined on keeping it that way.

Johnny Depp’s character is a retired detective investigating the murder of The Notorious B.I.G

Along with Depp and Forest Whitaker, City of Lies features a cast that includes Rockmond Dunbar, Neil Brown Jr., Xander Berkeley, Shea Whigham, Wynn Everett, Toby Huss, Louis Herthum, and Shamier Anderson. Brad Furman directed this movie. He previously helmed The Lincoln’s Lawyer and The Infiltrator. The film will be in theatres starting on March 19, before arriving on VOD and digital platforms on April 9.
