Garett Talcott, a kindergarten teacher in Washington, impressed social media with him taking his students on a virtual field trip to the zoo. The video of him walking and talking to his students via zoom on his laptop went viral. In the heartwarming clip, which has garnered over 800,000 views on TikTok, Talcott walks around the wildlife park, teaching his pupils about the natural habitats of exotic animals from around the world.
“We learn something, new everyday friends,” Talcott, 31, tells his class of 28 remote learners through a laptop during a lesson on penguins at the Woodland Park Zoo near Seattle. “This is a great trip,” one student exclaimed in the video call.

His videos gained a lot of positive comments on his efforts. “Teachers don’t get paid enough! This is so sweet and the kiddos must have been so excited,” one comment says.
“I fully respect and appreciate how you went above and beyond but I’m sad the kids can’t fully experience it and just watch from behind a screen,” another commentator typed.
He also took the kids for a virtual roller coaster ride complete with crazy tilts, twists, and turns.

Talcott even encouraged his students with a message during this pandemic which is no doubt contributes to the level of excitement in his class. He said: “You matter. Your teachers care about you… You are the future.”
