What Can We Know About The Differences Between AMD And Intel?

If you ever used or even purchased PCs or laptops in your life, you will definitely notice that there are actually two different brands used in Malaysia for the processor. Those brands of processors for laptops and PCs are namely AMD and also Intel. For better recognition, there would usually be certain writing that writes ‘Intel Core Inside’ or even ‘AMD’ and it is usually located near the bottom area of the keyboard.

This Twitter user named ‘Aman Jamadi‘ has made the job easy for many people who might have less knowledge about processors for PCs and also laptops. He has kindly listed out all the widely used processors for the brands AMD and also Intel ranked from the highest performance to the lowest performance. Other than that, he also explained which brand is the most suitable to be used for different kinds of laptops or PCs.

According to the Twitter thread that he posted, these are the ranking of processors used for both of the brands. The intention why he ranked the processors is because at least people know which is more powerful and which is less.

AMD Brand:

  1. AMD RYZEN 9
  2. AMD RYZEN 7
  3. AMD RYZEN 5
  4. AMD RYZEN 3
  5. AMD FX
  6. AMD A10
  7. AMD A8
  8. AMD A6
  9. AMD A3
  10. AMD E1
  11. AMD ATHLON

INTEL Brand:

  1. INTEL CORE i9
  2. INTEL CORE i7
  3. INTEL CORE i5
  4. INTEL CORE i3
  5. INTEL PENTIUM
  6. INTEL CELERON
  7. INTEL CORE 2 DUO
  8. INTEL ATOM

He also stated that the most frequently asked question that he usually encounters about the processor would be, ‘Which is better, INTEL or AMD?’. He easily answered the question with detailed explanations and strong reasons.

  • Secondhand Laptop: Intel processor.
  • Reason: Cooling system better than AMD. This is on old laptops because the previous AMD cooling system is less good.

  • New Laptop: AMD processor.
  • Reason: Overall performance is better and cheaper. Power consumption is lower than Intel which is a good thing. This is because, when power consumption is low, heat generation is less and it would lead to the laptop does not heat up quickly. The cooling system is even better than before.

Aman Jamadi stated, “Isn’t it much easier to choose which one is the best for us after knowing about the rankings of Intel processor and AMD processor”. He also mentioned, “You guys can follow me to know more about laptops. I will try to make everyone understand about laptops or even PCs. For me, everyone should know the basics about laptops because this thing has become a necessity for everyone”.
