According to reports, Kobayashi died on April 16, 2021. He died in the middle of a battle with kidney cancer for two years. Currently, no articles have been made public about Kobayashi’s funeral ceremony, but fans paid tribute to the director online.

For those of you who don’t know, Kobayashi is also the director of one of the popular anime BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad where it was one of his first big projects.
