Meet ‘Screambulance’, A New Concept of A Haunted House Delivery Service

The global pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus has taken a toll on every industry especially the entertainment business and haunted houses are not excluded. In order to keep the business going, companies are now coming up with creative ideas that offer the same services but this time, while persisting physical distancing.

One of the most applaud services is ‘Screambulance’. It is a new mobile haunted house experience in a bloody, old ambulance. It is designed to offer the most petrified experience in a tiny space with zombie-like staffs that make the interior even scarier. At the same time, it abides by social distancing rules.

This on-the-go haunted house is created by the same haunted house production company that offered the world’s first drive-in haunted house last year, Kowagarasetai (Scaring Corps).

The Screambulance is proclaimed as Japan’s first mobile horror experience. Basically, it delivers horror experience service to your doorsteps, adapted to the critical times we live in. The bloody ambulance will come and park outside of your place at your chosen time to deliver the blood-curdling thrills you’ve been waiting for.

From the outside, the ambulance is already scary enough but the interior is even worse with medical equipment, bags of fake blood hanging from the ceiling, and a bloody floor. It is completed with the latest 3D sound recording microphone, the KU100 to make the experience even more real.

Bookings can be made online and the service is available in all 23 wards of Tokyo. It serves a party of up to six people for 15 minutes sessions at the price of 9,000 yen. The ‘haunted’ ambulance is manned by zombie-like staff that won’t interact with people. It is designed to follow the new norms including social distancing. It will also be completely ventilated and sanitized after each use to make sure safety and cleanliness for users.
