Issa Rae has recently joined the voice cast of the sequel to 2018’s ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ in the role of Jessica Drew who is also known as Spider-Woman. Issa Rae’s name is the first new performer to be attached to the sequel.
Both Shameik Moore and also Hailee Steinfeld will return as main characters Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen, respectively. Nothing else is known about the new project with regards to the story but that it will continue to show off characters associated with the Spider-Man legacy throughout its comic history. The sequel is predicted to hit theaters on the 7th of October in the year 2022.
Issa Rae is currently filming the fifth and final season of HBO’s ‘Insecure’ which is a comedy series that she has been co-created. In the film, she most recently co-starred with Kumail Nanjiani in the comedy ‘The Lovebirds’ and also with LaKeith Stanfield in romance ‘The Photograph’ that are both got released last year.
