Malaysian Craft Council To Hold Kelantan Exchange 2021 Event From Nov 11 To 13

KOTA BHARU, Oct 26  — The Malaysian Craft Council (MCC) will be organising an event aimed at upholding the local craft’s heritage value.

The event, dubbed the Kelantan Exchange 2021 will be held from Nov 11 to 13 at Grand Renai Hotel, here.

MCC president Nik Faiz Nik Mohd Amin said the event which was also aimed at preserving the country’s cultural heritage would see the participation of 50 local artists.

He said various activities have been drawn up to enliven the event, among them, arts and craft workshop as well as the Mak Yong performance by Kelantan Department of Culture and Arts (JKKN) director Rosnan Abdul Rahman and celebrity Arja Lee.

“There will also be a craft bazaar and three dialogue sessions one of which carries the title ‘Arts from the Perspective of Islam’ that will feature independent preacher  Azman Syah Alias or better known as PU Azman.

“The event will also be participated by the Japan Foundation which will share knowledge about Japanese culture, arts and crafts,” he said at a press conference, here, yesterday.

Nik Faiz said Kelantan was chosen as the host for the event because it is among the states with the largest number of local handicrafts.

“This will be a starting point for us before expanding the event to other states,” he said adding that the event was also expected to attract 500 visitors a day

Nik Faiz said during the event, MCC would also hold a dinner where tickets and table bookings can be made by contacting the council at 0199385858.

Kelantan Exchange 2021 will also be held in collaboration with various agencies and non-governmental organisations such as JKKN, Tourism Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan and Yayasan Hasanah.
