Tom Holland Teases ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Mystery Character!

Spider-Man: No Way Home, the third MCU Spider-Man film, would find Peter facing opponents and challenges from all around the multiverse. After Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio reveals his true identity at the end of Far From Home, Peter seeks the help of Doctor Strange to cleanse his name.

The naive hero accidentally opens up the Marvel cosmos while casting universe-altering magic. While the majority of the plot is still unknown, it has been announced that Alfred Molina will reprise his role as Doctor Octopus from the original Sam Raimi Spider-Man films to fight the hero, and he will not be alone.

Tom Holland is mostly keeping his mouth shut this time. The notoriously spoiler-prone Avenger isn’t revealing all the facts just yet, but now that he’s been a part of the MCU for almost five years, he may have finally mastered the art of “the tease.”

The young leading guy, in particular, emphasized a moment involving an unnamed mystery character interacting with Peter, which he thinks is his coolest ever. While Holland could only tease fans about the character’s identity, he did reveal that the scene has him, Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May, Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan, and the nameless character around a table. The four are reported to be discussing what it means to be a hero, which has sparked curiosity about who this wise source could be.

The question now is who is this mysterious character? Many theories that the sequel will involve the return of Willem Dafoe’s Peter Osborn and Alfred Molina’s Otto Octavius from Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” flicks from the early 2000s were confirmed by the official teaser for the sequel. More theories persist that “No Way Home” will go even further and include Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s past renditions of Peter Parker as well. Is it possible that one of them could be the mysterious character?

Adding to the excitement, many fans believe Tom Holland is referring to Tom Hardy’s Venom. After all, Holland has been almost obsessively rigorous in his refusal to drop spoilers, as he did in the past. The fact that he’s implying anything mysterious about No Way Home could be the most telling sign: Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom is already making a dimensional jump over to the MCU for Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s multiverse conflict, so how much would Holland be revealing by hinting to it in Venom: Let There Be Carnage?

However, with so many significant crossover moments in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there are a lot of potential possibilities for the sequence Holland is hinting at. Former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have both been mentioned as possible possibilities for this scenario by Marvel fans. Then there’s the even more improbable scenario that Marvel Studios will debut a figure like Miles Morales in No Way Home, no matter how unlikely.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from Spider-appearances Man’s in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far, it’s that anything is possible… and that if you want to keep a secret, don’t tell Tom Holland.

On December 17, 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in theatres.
