(Video) Known For Voicing Nobita In Doraemon, Yoshiko Ohta Dies At 89

The voice owner for the famous character named Nobita in the popular animated series Doraemon reportedly died believed to be of heart failure. According to a report, Yoshiko Ohta was Nobita’s first voice actor in the year 1973. Yoshiko died on the 29th of October 2021, at the age of 89 in one of the hospitals located in Kanagawa prefecture.

Even so, the news of Yoshiko’s death was only announced on the 8th of November by The Theater Echo Theater Company. The Hyogo-born woman first ventured into the world of animation as a voice actor in the year 1947 under the management of Takarazuka Revue and met another voice actor, Osamu Saka who later became her husband.

In the year 1964, the couple decided to move to Tokyo and join the Theater Echo Group, also as voice actors. In addition to Nobita’s character, Yoshiko also contributed her voice for the character Leo in the Jungle Emperor Leo animation around the year 1966, Atsuko Kagami in Himitsu no Akko-chan in 1969, and the Baby Panda character in the Panda! Go, Panda!. Yoshiko also once received an award for her own contribution in the early anime work at the Lifetime Achievement Award 2016 and also Tokyo Anime Award Festival.
