The opening video for One Piece anime would definitely be one of the most iconic and also memorable parts of the really famous One Piece anime. Recently, the 1,000th episode of One Piece has finally aired to the delight of fans and the impressive milestone came with a very special opening. The new opening pays homage to its original opening.
Created by Eiichiro Oda, the ongoing One Piece manga made its debut on July 22, 1997, and the first anime episode premiered in Japan two years later on the 20th of October. The series continues to be an overwhelming success with more than 490 million copies of the manga sold worldwide. Other than that, One Piece has also spawned a plethora of adaptations including light novels, music, tie-in films, a live-action television series, and also a kabuki play for all.
The series had been building up to the massive new occasion with a series of fun promotional materials highlighting just how far the anime has come since it first began, but Toei Animation and Shueisha were clearly saving the biggest surprise celebration for last. The brand new video includes all the iconic moments from the original opening video like Luffy spinning his straw hat on his finger and the sketches of Gol D. Roger’s execution while updating the visuals and characters to reflect the many changes that have occurred since Straw Hat Pirates left the East Blue and began their journey on Grand Line.
