(Video) Scary Unfinished Skyscraper In Thailand, Called The ‘Sathorn Unique Tower’

Sathorn Unique Tower is actually an unfinished skyscraper in the Thai capital city Bangkok. Planned as a high-rise condominium complex, construction of the building was halted during the year 1997 Asian financial crisis, when it was already about 80 percent complete. It is now among the most prominent of Bangkok’s many derelict buildings and has become a destination for urban explorers. There are actually scary stories behind this particular building.

The unfinished 49-story skyscraper stands forlornly in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, dubbed by locals as the one and only ‘Ghost Tower’ and also occupied only by vagrants and drug addicts. Thanks to its ghostly reputation, however, Sathorn Unique Tower has become a magnet for urban explorers looking for an adrenaline rush and also an Instagram-worthy panoramic view of the city. Some locals believe that the building is haunted because it was built on a former graveyard, while others claim that the building’s shadow covers the nearby Wat Yan Nawa, which is indeed considered inauspicious. In 2014, the body of a Swedish backpacker was found hanged on the 43rd floor.

Additional reports for a lot of ghostly encounters surfaced throughout the years, and the building’s eerie condition certainly lends to the development of such tales. Other than that, its emptiness is unsettling, and the graffiti on its bare walls contain troubling images and also thoughts. Dangerous holes dot the floors, stray dogs scurry through its empty halls, and wall-sized openings devoid of glass step straight out into the open air. Such a scary environment.

It is not only the spooky stories about this place that draws so many curious tourists from all over the world to this specific abandoned building in Sathorn, but it is also the unique atmosphere and also the view of Bangkok from over 185 meters from the ground that can be matched with all of the luxurious rooftop bars of today. As of today, the scary Sathorn Unique Tower had tightened its own security and also did not allow outsiders to enter like before anymore.
