(Video) Try These 7 Steps To Save Your Motorcycles If Got Submerged In Flood Water

The recent flood that happens in our beloved country that is Malaysia has left parts of the country submerged once again. Besides our own homes, chances are, another victim of the high floodwaters would be our treasured and loved motorcycles. If your motorcycles were thoroughly submerged like days in a flooded basement, do not even try to start it as it will need full disassembly. If it is underwater briefly, there is still hope for you to do to save your motorcycles.

If you really intend to save it, there are actually a few things you should do before bringing it to the nearest shop or service center to assess the damage. These 7 simple steps that you can do in an early stage that you can do to save it.

  1. Do not attempt to start the engine of the motorcycle.

  2. Take off the terminal of the motorcycle’s battery.

  3. Take off then ECU or CGI of your motorcycle.

  4. Take off the nut drain plug to get rid of the engine oil.

  5. Take off the exhaust and get rid of the water inside it.

  6. Take off the spark plug of the motorcycle.

  7. Install the motorcycle’s battery and turn it on to get rid of the water inside the combustion chamber.
