(Video) Craving For ‘Roti Canai’ A Lot? Try This Simple Recipe To Do It Yourselves

Roti canai is actually an Indian-influenced flatbread dish found in several countries in Southeast Asia, including Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. It is usually served with dal or other types of curry, but can also be cooked in a range of sweet or savory variations made with a variety of ingredients such as meat, egg, or cheese. As everyone would know, roti canai is a popular breakfast and snack dish in Malaysia, and one of the most famous examples of Malaysian Indian cuisine. It is said that the dish was brought over from India by Indian Muslims during the British colonization of British Malaya. They are known as ‘Mamaks’ in Malaysia and are served in Mamak stalls.

For those who might not know, you in fact can make your own roti canai for you to enjoy easily at your own home, Worry not because the recipe to make your own homemade roti canai is so easy. You can even make it as many times as you want because it is not a burden at all. The recipe is shared in a viral TikTok video that got posted recently.

A simple recipe to make your own roti canai at home:

  1. 2 spoons of margarine.
  2. 1 spoon of salt.
  3. 2 spoons of sugar.
  4. 2 spoons of condensed milk.
  5. 1 cup of hot water.
  6. Mix all of them together.
  7. Put in mineral water accordingly.
  8. 1 egg.
  9. 2 kg of flour and mix it well with the wet ingredients.
  10. Leave it for 30 minutes.
