Disney Stops Movie Releases In Russia Amid The Russia And Ukraine Crisis

There are getting more and more numbers of people and also companies that have condemned the action that Russia has taken towards Ukraine for the past few days. One of the famous ones would definitely be none other than the Disney company. Disney announced that they would stop releasing any movies in Russia amid the crisis happened.

In fact, Disney has set such a huge example for many other studios as it is the only one to be the first huge Hollywood studio to finally take a hard stance against the violence of Russia for invading Ukraine. As of now, the fate of many people in Ukraine is indeed still in danger as Russia constantly attacks the unfortunate country without any pity.

The statement released by Disney mentioned, “Given the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the tragic humanitarian crisis, we are pausing the release of theatrical films in Russia, including the upcoming Turning Red from Pixar. We will make future business decisions based on the evolving situation. In the meantime, given the scale of the emerging refugee crisis, we are working with our NGO partners to provide urgent aid and other humanitarian assistance to refugees”.
