Poisonous foods for cats can be found in so many places. It can even be in your own house where you think the safest for your furry friends. For those who might not know, there are indeed some foods that you got to avoid feeding your cats. Even though the foods might be safe for us, they might not be suitable for your cats because of several reasons.

According to Daily Paws, it is actually not recommended for humans and cats to share snacks. This is because the nutrients that are beneficial for us might be overwhelmed for the cats’ diet. Instead, it could be so harmful to them.

1) Chocolate And Drinks With Caffeine

There is a substance in chocolate called methylxanthines that is dangerous for cats. It could cause your cat to have a sudden increase in temperature, tremors on the muscle, heart rate that is abnormal, diarrhea and even vomiting, feeling of discomfort, seizures, and also increased thirst. Other than chocolate, this substance also can be found in caffeinated drinks. Important to avoid giving your cats chocolate and caffeinated drinks.

2) Garlic And Onions

These might seem simple but garlic and onions could be very poisonous for cats. They could really damage your cat’s red blood cells. When it got damaged, your cat might experience anemia. It could be deadly to the cats if was given in huge quantities. Nevertheless, even a small amount could be poisonous to them. So, please avoid that.

3) Dairy Products

This might be a surprise for many people as cats can be seen to be enjoying milk a lot. Little did many people know, cats have trouble trying to digest the lactose in dairy products. Cats only got exposed to dairy products when they were kittens as they got it from their mother’s milk. But, it is only for a few weeks.

4) Raw Dough

It is very dangerous for cats to eat raw dough as it could expand inside their stomach. That is why cat owners are advised to not give them raw dough to be eaten.

5) Liver

Cat’s bones could be severely affected if they are given too many livers to be eaten. An excessive amount of livers for cats could cause Vitamin A toxicity to the cats. It would also cause deaths in some cases.
