Statement From UiTM Regarding Viral Video During Online Class

A statement from UiTM (Universiti Teknologi Mara) was released recently and it is through their Twitter page. This is regarding the issue of a viral video that happened during an online class. In the statement, UiTM mentioned that they are concerned with all of their students. Especially during this new norm of the teaching and learning process.

Earlier, the 1-minute 45-second viral video showed the lecturer involved believed to have scolded a student for not having a laptop. Apart from that, there is also an accusation that the lecturer uttered inappropriate words to the B40.

The statement also mentioned, “The university has studied the issue and taken swift and appropriate action against the lecturer”. Other than that, compromise is not something UiTM will do against individuals that intentionally and also unintentionally want to bring shame to UiTM’s good name.

For all the students who are struggling during these trying times, do not be afraid to reach out. UiTM’s main goal would be to help students who are in need to get the educations that they deserve. The faculty and university will try and help the students to get the basic necessities that they need while they are pursuing their studies there.
