Hari Raya Aidiladha Date To Be Announced 8PM Tonight

The announcement of the date of Hari Raya Aidiladha for this year will be officially declared at 8 pm tonight. The matter was informed by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) through the official Facebook page just now.

“The Keeper of the Great Seal of the Rulers will make an official announcement regarding the setting of the official date of Hari Raya Haji (Aidiladha) for the year 2022 in Malaysia. The announcement awaited by all Muslims will be broadcast on radio and television (RTM TV1)”, the statement said.

In the meantime, JAKIM added, the decision and method of setting the date are based on the observation of the new moon.

So far, the date of this particular Hari Raya for this year as scheduled in the calendar is on July 10. However the actual date based on crescent observations will be officially announced tonight.

According to the MuslimSG website, Aidiladha is actually a celebration. It is to mark the completion of all the Pillars of Islam. Especially after fulfilling the fifth pillar and that is the Hajj. The Hajj pilgrimage is only obligatory once in a lifetime, for those who are physically, physiologically, and financially able.
