Apple Releases 4 New iPhone Models Coming This September

With the conclusion of last night’s Apple Event, Apple releases the upcoming lineup for their flagship product, the iPhone.

After months of rumours, Apple has officially announced 4 new iPhone models that will be available for pre-order later this month. The phones will release alongside the long-awaited iOS 16.

iPhone 14 and 14 plus

The iPhone 14 boasts a 6.1-inch display screen with Super Retina XDR OLED panel and the phone comes with an A15 Bionic chip. There are 2 lenses on the back panel with a combination of 12Mp for the main camera as well as the wide-angle camera.

Apple claims that there is a 49% improvement in low-light image quality and Night Mode which will be twice as fast as the iPhone 13.

iPhone 14 and 14 Plus come with a new feature, Crash Detection. The feature can detect severe car accidents and automatically dial emergency services when users are unconscious or unable to reach their iPhones. The iPhone 14 lineup also introduces Emergency SOS via satellite.

iPhone 14 Plus will have the same features as the iPhone 14, but with a bigger 6.7-inch display screen. The iPhone 14 will be selling for RM4,199 whereas the price for the iPhone 14 Plus will be RM4,699. 5 Colours will be available: Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple and (PRODUCT) RED.

iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max

After announcing the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, Apple announced the lineup of their iPhone Pro series. The iPhone Pro and 14 Pro Max will be powered by the new A16 Bionic chip.

The size iPhone 14 Pro will be 6.1 inches whereas the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a slightly larger size at 6.7 inches. Both iPhone models will use ceramic on the front panel, matte textured glass on the back and a stainless metal frame.

The Pro model will still have the same 4 lenses as the previous iPhone 13 Pro models. For the main lenses, Apple says that they will perform 49% better in low light. The 12MP selfie camera now features autofocus.

The biggest highlight of the iPhone 14 Pro is the front display. Apple has finally got rid of the notch and now has a ‘pill’ cut out that they named Dynamic Island.

Dynamic Island will play an important feature in the Pro models as any notifications and activity will be displayed through it. It will look as if the hole will be part of the pop-up notifications. Not only that, for the first time in Apple history, iPhone 14 Pro will have an Always-On-Display.

iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are available for pre-order on 16 September and available to purchase starting on 23 September. The price of the iPhone 14 Pro will begin from RM5,299 and the 14 Pro Max will begin from RM5,799. 4 Colours will be available: Deep Purple, Gold, Silver, and Space Black.
