Arcane Becomes First Streaming Service Series To Win An Emmy

Netflix’s animated TV show ‘Arcane’, becomes the first ever streaming service series to win an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program. Arcane is an animated action-adventure television series by Christian Linke and Alex Yee.

It is based on the award-winning PC MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game League of Legends created by Riot Games. The show was crowned the winner at Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmy presentation at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.  The Arcane team even share a few words on their Twitter.

The TV show beat other contenders including Bob’s Burgers, Rick and Morty, The Simpsons and Marvel’s What If…? Other than that, Arcane also managed to win three other Emmy awards for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation.

“Thank you this. It’s a big deal for us as we come from video games. It’s been amazing to see the world embrace our characters and our stories so thanks to Netflix who believed in us from the beginning, thanks to Riot Games, who worked on the whole IP.

“And to all the people that have been with our game and League of Legends for the last 12 years or so who helped make it as big as it is now,” Arcane co-creator Christian Linke said.

Arcane released first released in November 2021 and receive critical praise for its animation, story, world-building, action sequences, characters, music, and voice-acting.

It set a record as Netflix’s highest-rated series within a week of its premiere. Additionally, the series got the first rank on Netflix’s Top 10 Chart in 52 countries.

Interestingly, fans of the show will be glad to hear that Arcane will be back for Season 2 in the near future. For now, no new information regarding the season 2.
