Malaysia Day: Panorama Melaka To Provide Free Shuttle Service To Banda Hilir

MELAKA, Sept 14 (Bernama) — In accordance with Malaysia Day. Stage bus service provider, Panorama Melaka, will be providing a free shuttle service for members of the public to attend the Malaysia Day celebration at the Independence Declaration Memorial Square in Banda Hilir here this Friday.

Its general manager, Datuk Abu Bakar Abdul, said two buses will be used to provide the service between Pulau Melaka and Melaka Raya and Banda Hilir from 5 pm on Friday to 1 am on Saturday.

He said the buses are able to transport 30 passengers at one time with an interval of between 10 to 15 minutes.

“The shuttle buses provided by Panorama Melaka are white in colour and will travel from Pulau Melaka to Melaka Raya and Banda Hilir.

“The public can board the bus when they see it at any station along the routes to go the Memorial Square,” he told a press conference here today.

Abu Bakar said the shuttle service is being provided to ease the public to join and enliven the Malaysia Day celebration and at the same time, reduce traffic congestion in Banda Hilir.

It is also part of Panorama Melaka’s commitment to providing free service during the celebration of the historical day.

The Malaysia Day celebration this year is also unique as the 1950s and 1960s eras of fashion were selected as the theme.

Approximately 20,000 people are expected to flock to Memorial Square to join the first celebration of Malaysia Day in the peninsula.

For the record, the celebration has been organized alternately between Sarawak and Sabah since 2012.’
