Can’t Vote Because Home Is Far? Here’s How To Change Address Online!

Recently Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament. This means that our country will hold the 15th General Election (GE) soon.

However, those of you who are far away, are you ready to go to the voting address to cast your vote in GE15 later?

Sometimes it feels a little heavy to go back to my hometown just to vote. No matter what, with the current economic situation, time and cost especially need to be emphasized. Is there a way to overcome this problem?

Twitter user @ahmadzahidXCIII shares three ways you can do if you want to change your current voting address center.

The three ways are: go to the Suruhanjaya Piliihan Raya (SPR) branch physically, post office or online. A lot of people will prefer the online method more, so here is how to do it online.

Lets take a look at the steps that @ahmadzahidXCIII stated. Before that, make sure that your have change the address on your Identification Card (IC) and updated it at Jabatan Pedaftaran Negara (JPN)

Steps to update address online:

1. First of all, go to the link at myspr.spr.gov.my/login

2. Secondly, log in to your MySPR Account by filling in the IC Number, Password and CAPTCHA.

3. Then, click on Borang A (Pertukaran Bahagian Pilihan Raya / Pertukaran Status) and fill in the provided form.

4. Select KATEGORI PEMILIH in bahagian 1.

5. After that, fill in the complete address as in IC and other information.
