FA Charged Jurgen Klopp After Red Card In Match Against Man City

The Football Association has brought charges against Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for his red card in the 1-0 victory against Manchester City.

Klopp yelled at an assistant referee when he did not give a foul for a challenge on Mohamed Salah. This led to his dismissal in the 85th minute of the match.

Seeing Klopp’s angry reaction, the main referee Anthony Taylor blew his whistle, even though he had first allowed play to continue.

Klopp has since apologized for his actions in a post-conference after the match on Sunday.

“Something snapped in that situation, I’m not proud of that. I deserved a red card, and the way I looked in this moment is not right,” Klopp admitted.

Klopp is charged with violating FA regulation E3 for “words which are improper, which bring the game into shame, which are threatening, abusive, indecent, or insulting.”

The 55-year-old is able to coach Liverpool’s upcoming home game against West Ham on Wednesday if he responds to the accusation by Friday.

Furthermore, Klopp said that after the victory, he went to visit referee Anthony Taylor and “talked completely calmly” about his thoughts on the game.

Then he said, “The whole game kind of led to it a little bit. A lot of things happened in that game that we didn’t understand, and it was a really dramatic match.

Liverpool won thanks to a goal from Mohamed Salah. However, a slew of reported events that cast a shadow over the result overshadowed the game.

Guardiola claimed he was hit with coins after Phil Foden had a goal disallowed.

Moreover, Liverpool denounced the “vile” chanting that was allegedly about the Heysel and Hillsborough catastrophes. Allegedly, the chanting came from the away end.
