Some Tragic Incidents In Korea To Know, In Loving Memories Of The Victims

There have been so many tragic incidents in Korea that happened throughout the years. As people who fortunately managed to survive the horrendous incidents and also accidents, it is best for them to learn some lessons from them. It is indeed not wrong for them to remember the incidents that happened before. It is to make sure that people would not repeat the same mistakes.

All of the incidents that happened have caused a lot of casualties and also property loss for a lot of people. To those who might not know about them, worry not. This is because the list below would introduce and acknowledge you about tragic incidents in Korea.

1) Sampoong Department Store Collapsed

This massive collapse of a building happened on the 29th of June 1995. It was actually a department store that was located in Seocho, Seoul. According to history, the building was once an office building. Right after that, they used the building as a department store.

Before it collapsed, there were a lot of issues due to the poor construction of the building being ignored. That was actually the major mistake made. Because of ignorance, starting from the fifth floor to the basement floor of the building collapsed suddenly in the middle of the day. Unfortunately, the unexpected collapse caused death to a total number of 502 people.

2) Halloween Crowd That Turns Deadly In Seoul

This is a recent tragic incident that happened in Korea. According to several reports, the incident has killed at least 149 people and also has injured 150 others. To those who might not know, the people got crushed to death in the incident during a large Halloween crowd specifically in Seoul.

As stated by the local news media, there are as many as 100,000 people in the particular celebration. The huge amount of people that day had suddenly clogged the Itaewon nightlife district which is a very narrow street. Several images posted on social media platforms have showed that the emergency medical workers, police officers, and also citizens trying to perform CPR on the struggling people trapped on the road.

3) Gas Explosion At Daegu Metro Line 1

The terrifying incident happened on the 28th of April 1995. Stated in several news, the explosion has killed in total of 102 people. It was during the construction of Daegu Metro Line 1 and the workers there accidentally destroyed a gas pipeline. Because of that, a massive explosion occurred and it had destroyed all the line and facilities around the area. Such a sad incident to happened.
